Code of Conduct

The purpose of this document is to outline behaviors that, if and only if, are perpetrated with malice, constitute a breach of acceptable conduct of a Malleteer.

Acts of behavioral misconduct including:
  • Using language or symbolism that is clearly racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise displaying prejudiced or disparaging attitudes.
  • Making unwanted advances sexually; or into personal space or residence.
  • Conveying threatening language or jeopardizing the safety of others.
  • Hazing Malleteers, prospective Malleteers, or other persons.
Acts of dishonesty including
  • Forgery, impersonation, plagiarism, or other identity/intellectual theft of other persons.
  • Bribery or acceptance of bribes.
Disruption of Assembly proceedings including but not limited to:
  • Tribunals
  • Dorm Meetings
  • Executive Meetings
  • Ad Meetings
Violations of conduct concerning property including:
  • Attempted theft of property of the Assembly or other persons
  • Attempted damage of property of the Assembly other persons
Misuse or neglect of the the Mallet Assembly Code of Conduct including:
  • Failure of an Executive to act on clear breaches of the Mallet Assembly Code of Conduct.
  • Attempting to use the Mallet Assembly Code of Conduct to wrongfully exclude other persons.
For the purpose of this document, the following definitions are included:
  • A “Malleteer” is defined as a person added to the Assembly (at any point) regardless of current dues status
  • A “person” (referred to plurally as “persons”) shall not exclude any individual with regards to gender identification, veteran status, psychiatric diagnosis, or other identifying factors.
  • An “Executive” is an elected official of the Assembly’s executive board.
  • “Malice” is defined as intent to commit a wrongful act that is substantially certain to result in harm to another, or despicable conduct which is carried on by the perpetrator with a willful and conscious disregard of the rights or safety of others.
  • Any reference to the “Assembly” refers to the Mallet Assembly.
